Great Gift, Fun Project

This is the cutest gift I think you can give someone. You don't even have to wrap it because it looks so pretty. I got the idea from Patty Bennett's blog.
Pretty, right? So you remove the belly band and inside you will find...

Three pockets! The top one is to hold some stamps. (yes those are old Christmas stamps!) The middle pocket holds note cards and the bottoms pocket holds the envelopes.

Four notes cards, four matching envelopes, stamps and a pretty pocket holder. Great gift, or what?

Pulling out the old stamps

This week I am focusing on pulling out some of my stamp sets that I haven't used in a while. Heartfelt Thanks is one of those sets. I have always liked that set and you can make just about any type of card with it. So here is what I came up with!

The colors I used were Eggplant, Certainly Celery and Rose Red. The colors look so pretty together. I think this was a CC on SCS a few weeks ago.

Enjoy! If you haven't entered to win the $10 SU! Gift Certificate, leave your comment today on that post!

Good Morning Everyone! It feels great to get my stamps out again and create.

Today Color Challenge on SCS was Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Real Red. I used my Priceless stamp set with the same ink as card stock.
The card is simple but cute. Hope you like it.

Stamps By Mail

Here are the other two projects the Stamps By Mail club for February. We worked with Stampin' Pastels. I really love that there are so many effects you can get from using them.

On this card, we used Versmark to stamp off the Old Olive Pastels. And of course, Embrace Life stamp set was used. Love that set!

This is a bookmark we made. Ginger Blossom paper was used for the sleeve and Cameo Coral was used for the inside base as well as the Pastels for the flower. I used my Old Olive marker to ink the stamp and for Embrace Life at the bottom. Wouldn't this be a great gift for someone!

Interested in Stamps By Mail, drop me a line. You will make projects each month in the comfort of your own home! Email me today for more information.

Happy 4th Birthday...

Today was my daughter's 4th birthday. I surprised her with a Rocket cake from Little Einsteins. She really liked it a lot. I was really happy with the way it came out so I thought I would share it with you. I got the directions to make it from http://www.andreasrecipes.com/2006/11/11/little-einsteins-rocket-birthday-cake/

This photo was adjusted through my photo editor. I didn't even think that the foil would effect the pictures but it did a bit.
Anyhow, I'm not a baker (love to cook but not bake) so I think this came out pretty good. I bought a spare cake mix just in case this didn't look like it was going to make it! But I didn't need to use it!
Have a great day.

RAK from Allison

I received this very cute card from Allison. She was a TGI Friday winner in January. I just love this card and the colors. Stop by and visit her fun blog when you have a chance.

Some of us, including me, aren't up on the blog lingo. Makes you feel old huh? A friend asked me what does RAK mean? I didn't know myself when I first saw it so my friend Courtney filled me in. It means Random Act of Kindness. Cute, huh?

Have a great day!

Weekend Sketch Challenge 36

Here is my card for this weekend's sketch challenge. I actually put this card together a few days ago. For the first time, I knew the colors and stamps I would use right when I saw the layout! Check out Beate's blog to join in on the fun!

I used Background Basics and Pun Fun. The card stock is Kraft, Blue Bayou, and Rust. I added a few gold brads and some Twill Tape. The cup is embossed with Clear EP using Versamark Ink. The card is simple but I love it. Plus anyone that knows me understands how I feel about coffee!!

Have a great Monday. And don't forget to leave your comment for the 5000 Hit Giveaway today!

Color and Sketch Challenge

I didn't have time to complete the SCS Color Challenge on Monday but I really wanted to try it. So today when I saw the Sketch Challenge, I put them both together.

Who would have thought to use Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery and Orchard Opluent together? I certainly would not. But it looks great. The stamp set I used is Merci, one of the Sale-A-Bration sets. My Stampin' Pastels and a Blender Pen did the trick for the color. The base of the card is Kraft. Versamark was used for the background stamps. Cute, cute! And I know just the person who is going to receive this card.

Enjoy!

Have you been thinking about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? Well now is the time! Sign up during the Sale-A-Bration promotion period and your Starter Kit is only $159! In addition, you recieve one stamp set of your choice from any current catalog ($47.95 value).

Embracing Pastels

This month for our Stamps By Mail projects, we used Stampin' Up! Pastels. I hadn't used mine in a while so it was fun to get them back out. There are so many ways to use your Pastels besides just with the sponge applicator that comes with them.

Here I used Blender Pens to color the flowers. They came out so pretty. Embracing Life is the stamp set and Ginger Blossom is the Designer Paper. A little Groovy Guava Ribbon and you have a card that looks like a professional artist created it ;-)

Have a great day!

Merci

My upline challenged us to make a project from Stampin' Up!'s list. I love this set from Sale-A-Bration. When I saw it the first time, I knew I would get it. It is fun and light and has a carefree look to it.

This was my first attempt at watercoloring. How fun. I used my Aquapainter and went to work. I purposely when out of the lines to give it that carefree look. The colors for the card are Old Olive, Ruby Red, More Mustard, and Almost Amethyst. The ink is the same. I added some Hodgepodge Hardware and my card was complete.

A few tips on watercoloring. Use Stazon Ink so the black doesn't run. Also, if you have watercolor paper use that. If you are using regular cardstock, which I did, just be careful how much water you are using. The paper can't hold that must moisture and you will end up with an icky looking image.

If you must have this set like I did, just contact me to place your order by March 17th!

Wild About You - Weekend Sketch Challenge 35

When I saw this weekend's sketch challenge on Beate's blog, I knew it would make the perfect card for my great-nephew's birthday in March.

The Wild About You stamp set makes a fun card for kids of all ages. I saw this color combo in the new Mini Catalog that will be coming out shortly and really liked it. Real Red, Blashful Blue, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla is what I used with matching ink. It was a simple, fun card to put together.
Enjoy!

RAK from Cathy M.

Today, much to my surprise, I received this wonderful card in the mail! It was a Thank You from Cathy, our TGI Friday winner a week or so ago. I can't tell you how much it warmed my heart. I have it sitting right on my desk.

And I must say, it is the perfect card for me. I love, love, love coffee! In the morning, my coffee pot is ready to go. Starbuck's is a good friend! Hot, iced, flavored, I'll take it anyway.

My husband also sent me a dozen red roses today. It was very sweet of him and I was surprised to get them. They are really pretty. He knows I've been a little sad since we've moved.

Cathy, Thank You for taking the time to send me this wonderful card. It really made my day.

If you have the chance, send a card to someone today. We make these great cards, so share one. I promise that it will make them feel special!

Friends

This card sketch was suppose to be for Beate's Weekend Card Sketch but I didn't get it done in time. It just wasn't coming together and then it clicked. I really like the way it came out.

The colors and fun nature of this card totally remind me of my friends I miss so much in California. This card makes me smile and I hope you find yourself smiling as you think of your friends today!
Recipe: Apricot Appeal, Ruby Red, Sage Green card stock, inks are the same and I used a blender pen for the coloring, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery ribbon, Time Well Spent stamp set.

Information on being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Before you say, I'm not interested in becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, read this information.
There are a few great reasons to consider becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.
  • First, you will earn a great income. You start earning when you hold workshops or place customer orders: you keep 20% of the net sales! This is called Instant Income because you don't wait for a check from Stampin' Up! - the 20% is yours immediately. For example, if your workshop has net total of $350, you keep $70.
  • Second, you can earn additional income (volumn rebate) on your monthly net sales of $400 or more. Higher net sales increase your volumn rebate to as much as 20%. Your volumn rebate (paid monthly by Stampin' Up!) and your instant income can total up to 40% per month.
  • Third, you receive a minimum of 20% discount on your purchases from Stampin' Up! And you receive volumn rebate on your own purchases! This is a great way to build your personal stamping supplies.
  • Four, Stampin' Up! provides outstanding training to their demonstrators to ensure they have successful businesses.

These are just a few of the wonderful opportunities Stampin' Up! offers to their demonstrators.

You can choose to be a demonstrator that does in home workshops and classes OR be a hobby demonstrator. This means you purchase items for yourself at a discount. You can still sell to customers, it's up to you.

If you are looking for a great way to bring in extra income or to get a discount on product you love, this an opportunity for you. Think about it, write down your questions and then contact me. I'll be happy to answer all of your questions.

Contact me today to get more information on becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Sign up during the month of February and receive a special gift from Stampin' Up!

Weekend Sketch Challenge 30

Let me start by saying, this is not my favorite card I've ever created! Actually, I'm still not sure I even like it.
This card was created to participate in Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I used all colors from the In Color family. And I also used my Eastern Elegant Rub-Ons. The stamp set is Time Well Spent. It is a level 3 Hostess set.

That is about all I have to say about this card!

Easy, Fun Cards

Beate had a Be Inspired Challenge on her blog so I decided to give it a try. You could use the colors, the design, or both. I really like both of these cards and the way they came out. Hope they inspire you to get your stamps out today.

For this card, I used new Eastern Elegance Rub-Ons. These are so easy to use and really add some different to your projects. If need something new to try, give these a whirl. This paper i s the retired Apple Cider Designer Series Paper. There were a couple of sheets left over so I used them up. The card base is Kraft CS for both cards. Did you notice that I didn't use any stamps on this card?

Again, I used some retired DS paper, Darling Doodles. The stamp set is Be Happy. I really like this set. I added some Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon and my card was done. These colors work so well together.

Enjoy!

TGI Friday Freebie Winner Is....

Congratulations to Cathy M!! She is winner of the TGI Friday Freebie. This should give you a good start on your Valentine's Day projects.

Cathy shared this about her favorite candy: I love chocolate covered...cherries, raisins, cashews. I would have to agree with Cathy. Everyone had some yummy favorites, it was very hard not to run to the store and stock up ;-)

First let me say that before I had kids, my favorite candy was Jolly Ranchers or anything really sour. I could pass on the sweet stuff. NOW, forget about it! I would have to say my favorite candy is a Mr. Goodbar. Love those things! There are several runner-ups, Paydays (started eating those when I started running), Reeses, Mounds, ok I have to stop now.

Thank you so much to everyone that visited and left a comment. Be sure to check back often for other fun samples and giveaways. Have a great week!

Faux Silk Technique

I saw this technique on Splitcoast yesterday and had to try it. Plus I've be wanting to use this new stamp set as well! You use tissue paper to stamp on! It is a little hard to see in the picture the texture on the card but it is really a pretty technique in person. Here is the link if you want to try the technique out Faux Silk
The stamp set I used is called Infinite Goodness and is a Level 2 Hostess set. The card base is Chocolate Chip with Rose Red and Old Olive layers. The makers are the same colors. The pears are done in More Mustard. The ribbon is wide Chocolate Chip. I stamped the card base with Chocolate Chip ink.

Hope this gets you inspired to try a new technique today!

A Happy Thank You

Last night, we attending a belated Christmas party at my husband's boss' home. The food was incredible as were the hostess'. All the kids had a fun time while the adults enjoyed a few cocktails and some laughs. It was truly a fun evening.
I wanted to create a card that reflected the evening. This card was inspired by Beate. I thought the colors were happy and fun. The Groovy Guave and Ruby Red go so nicely together. I used the Slit Punch to create the scallop circle. It was so easy and I love the effect. Some Dazzling Diamonds in the center of each flower finished the card off nicely.

Are Three Challenges Better Than One?

I've been wanting to do the Color Challenge and the today's Limited Supplies Challenge on SplitCoast. Then I saw Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge and knew I wouldn't have time to do all three. So I decided to combine them all into one challenge!

The Color Challenge was to use Real Red, Taken with Teal and Certainly Celery. Limited Supplies was to not use white or vanilla on your card. And Beate's Sketch can be viewed on her blog. Here is what I came up with.

I used Embrace Life stamp set and some black brads. I used the paper piercing tool to make the holes around the Celery Card Stock. The Real Red background is embossed with clear embossing powder. I don't love the Grey flower but I couldn't use white!

Have a great weekend.

Happy New Year!

I hope that you all had a wonderful night bringing in 2008! To celebrate the New Year the stamping way, here are the projects from last month's Stamps By Mail. And remember, you can still join Stamps By Mail. Just email me for details.
Here we used the chipboard clipboard to make a cute holiday photo holder. The pocket holds the picture so you can change it out when you like. This is our family picture from last year. The kids have changed so much!
This was our Year At A Glance Folding Album. I got this idea from the letters people send out with their cards each year. Wouldn't it be fun to capture special moments from each season from the year? And the idea was born.

I have been busy putting the projects together for January using a stamp set from the new catalog and some of the new Designer Paper! Today looks like a good day for stamping.
